Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in House Halovar could help the group enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
Audiences can expect finding out which characters will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
