Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former mentor Cervara.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after that period of the previous year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's retrieving approach and regular emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour victory, took control to create a third set.

Moutet defended four early-game chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
